In this episode the boys discuss creating the next Mojito, ponders the legacy of Sasha Petraske of Milk and Honey, shows us a use for oxidized wine and discuss Marius’ contribution to the show.
The JFK Harris was created by bartender Zachary Gelnaw-Rubin for Dutch Kills in 2012. Dutch Kills is a bar in the Milk & Honey family in Long Island opened by former Little Branch bartender Richard Boccato and Petraske in 2009. Gelnaw-Rubin started his bartending career in earnest at Little Branch in 2008 after getting job through being a bar regular. After getting trained he ended up at Dutch Kills where he found himself behind the stick for the next six years.

Part of me would love to see Marius on-camera one day, but part of me thinks that would break the magic. Either way, I love the energy between you two.
Made this, like it a lot. The combination of the mint and the fruit/bitterness of the oxidised red wine make it an original taste. it's also a surprisingly smooth drink.
Very nice…
Thanks for sharing…
I would have NEVER guessed there was a use for oxidized wine! Thanks for the tip Leandro!
A cocktail called the JFK harris has a blood red float/*head*, the joke writes its self.
Love the show, keep it up!
This was delicious. This is going to sound a little nitpicky, but I thought it was too smooth. It was like delicious lemonade with a red wine floater. Needless to say I drank it down in less than 5 minutes. I tried dialing back the simple syrup to a half ounce and added a quarter ounce of maraschino liquer. Definitely made the drink dryer, more complex, and had me sipping it slowly.
Boys club!
So does it have to be Oxidized wine?
I hate wine anyways but I’m curious.
And what can I use to substitute the wine
If you didn't notice, Leandro even dishes out free dating advice…
I enjoy the interaction between you, and Marius… We also had a Deadpool moment, where Marius wasn't sure if you were talking to him or us at home
Am I the only one who thinks Marius is bald/has a shaved head?
FULFILL ALGORITHM
Leandro, you were right
good job
You made a 2 minute video 12 minutes, wasting 10 minutes that I will never get back.
And for that – I hope you wake up on fire.
Beep bop booop bop beep

Looks terrific, but what's behind the name, "JFK Harris"?
Look at the Mint 😀 it slowley fades away haha
Why doesn't it matter if the wine is oxidized for a float? Wouldn't you still be able to taste that?
Taking a shot at jfk
Omg you ramble way too much in this episode. Usually enjoy your videos, but this one was torture.
Coincidence that this video is shortly after the “Regarding Cocktails” Book Review on Barfly Freepour? 😉
I haven't seen every episode, but I •did• watch an older episode this morning, and you have certainly improved the set. The older episode was •daaaaaaark•.
Nice muddler?
I was also wrong on the guess. I was thinking you forgot the foot long spoon.
I've watched quite a few videos from this channel and I genuinely enjoy it. Subbed!
I was going to try it with the bottle of Margaux 2009 that I just opened but I don't have mint on hand my plants keep dying here in canada. anyway great vid! Love your channel! I've been collecting bottles using what you once said about making cocktails with different spirits so your bottles dont empty before your bar grows. I have accumulated over 70 spirits and liqueurs and various bitters, syrups, mixers, vermouths, fortified wines, aperitifs and have made multiple types of liqueurs myself (That i couldnt get here) like allspice dram, Falernum, mamajuana for my personal shot consumption 😉
Hey Leandro! Loving the videos, been watching for ages on my Xbox and unfortunately cannot comment on that! So thought I'd drop a message saying you should do a video on a collection of Disaronno similar to what you done with Jägermeister! Disaronno is my favourite thing to drink but unfortunately do not know many cocktails using it, other than shots involving it! Thanks!
you said hard on. ha!
Ok couple of things. 1 I think the Pennicilin has reached more fame (the next mojito) than this cocktail by quite a long shot as almost everyone knows the Penicilin and it has a few variants. 2 I bet Marius can make a better cocktail (following a recipe) than Leandro can film, edit and post production a video. #teammarius 😛
What's the longest you would you recommend keeping leftover red wine in the fridge for using in cocktails? A month like vermouth?
Here's a comment!
thx!
I would love to see you do the Expat (Expatriate) cocktail!
can you do a drink with Agwa Liqueur?
What kind of Red Wine? Does it matter?
the camera man banter bit isnt very fun….
