Not a macchiato. You use a little bit of entirely foamed milk.

What you made is a Piccolo Cafe Latte.

It's a flat white. Machiatto would be a single shot with a hint of milk froth, not a double shot with microfoam like this one.

That's NOT how you make a macchiato you knob! And the worst part is that you made a video about it. You're supposed to put a dollop of milk/froth, not fill it from halfway to the top. Please get someone from Italy to show you how to really do it, not a caker.

There seems to be so much confusion about what a macchiato is. Which is understandable because the definitions vary greatly. My macchiato should only have a spoon or two of foam. No milk. If I wanted milk in it I would order a cappuccino. Perhaps to avoid confusion I will order a dry Macchiato.

Amazing compact machine!>>>arah.in/Wapu    Excellent tasting coffee! The size of the machine is the advantage and disitvantage of it! I wish everything on this machine was bigger! Like the water container is not enough for two regular size cups! Ok if you drink only shots! Water overflow container is super small. Coffee waist container needs to be cleaned regularly as well due to size of it! Overall I like it!

Would have expected better from an Intelligentsia expert barista. I have been to this coffee shop myself, it's pretty good.

I drink Macchiato everyday and is my fav drink. It has Espresso and just MILK FOAM. What he made is a Cortado.

Have to just add my voice to the crowd, but this is NOT a macchiato! You make yourself out to be some sort of coffee expert, but can't even make a macchiato! Basically you've just made a mini cappuccino. I hate to sound down on Americans ( let's face it with their present situation, they've enough to bear) but the truth is I never once had a decent cup of coffee when I've been there.

That's not a Macchiato, what you made is more a long the lines of a Piccolo. Macchiato is just a short black with a small amount of foamed milk on top.

You don't put so much milk in a macchiato. It's usually just a dot of milk which is entirely foamed milk. What you made is more like a latte

Seems no exact way to show us how to make Macchiato, please don’t make every coffee looks similar, your work here just like a small Cappuccino as you dropped liquid into espresso, it’s not the proper way.

Way too much milk to be a macchiato. The word macchiato in Italian means "stain", so it should have just a spot of foam on top of the espresso. I don't know what that was, but it sure as hell wasn't a macchiato.
