The £299 Aldi Espresso Machine – How Bad Could It Be?
Espresso May 02, 2020

I’m not going to link to the machine, because I think that encourages the wrong sort of thing.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmGet the old Gaggia Classic and a separate bean grinder. The sage is NOT built to last like the Old Gaggia.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmPush the button and drink the damn coffee.
Plenty of Aldi stores in and around Stafford too ?

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmUnsubbed. Snobbish from the off. Belittling Aldi and determined to undermine due to low price. Ref: climate change issue comments – if you look into the impact of the coffee industry on the environment this machine is a fart in a hurricane. https://www-ecowatch-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.ecowatch.com/amp/coffees-invisible-carbon-footprint-1882175408?amp_js_v=a3&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D#aoh=15884171228037&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ecowatch.com%2Fcoffees-invisible-carbon-footprint-1882175408.html

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmIt's twice the price of my delonghi so I'd assume it could make a better coffee than pressing one button to get mine going

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmLove your show. That amazing british accent and your caustic way of thinking about coffee gadgets and stuff really make my day. please be free to send me coffee if you want to. Cheers and hugs.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmT hat unit is almost 375 USD i guess not crazy expensive as far as espresso machines go but thats not chump change either.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmI need this man to do negative reviews of everything I impulse buy ??
Jason Crook
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmWhy are you reviewing this ? Nobody who shops in Aldi would ever spend £300 on a coffee machine. And as you said a Bialetti coffee pot in my opinion is the only way I make my coffee . The Mukka Express pot is my favourite at the moment makes a perfect cappuccino every time ?????
De Pauw Bert
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmTotally agree with wat you said at 11:30min. That counts for lots of products on the market, some brands just make bad products just to be cheap. It's a total waste of everyting, including money.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmJames for once watching you here you look like me making a coffee 🙂

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmSorry mate, you're just a whiney piss-flap. The coffee tastes nice. Be honest.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmTo be fair coffee machines are shockingly overpriced to the point baristas can’t even afford them.. the people spending all their time working on these machines can’t afford a good one for home use but that’s just my American take on that I don’t speak for others ¯_(ツ)_/¯

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmIve heard that if you follow the recommended instructions that products work as intended, but thats just me

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmYour rant would be less embarrassing if you were not operating the machine from behind with your left hand.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmDid you flush £300 down the toilet? This an undercover rant against China.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmIll be sure not to watch another video like this…..

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmLooks rough, don't know why you'd bother! Even for a budget machine. I have one of the lowest end Breville models, (only lists for 230 cad/ 130 pound, frequently on sale so im sure I only payed 160 /92 pound) it's not perfect, but it can consistently make a great espresso. The difference here is that Breville actually makes espresso machines, they know what they're doing where as I'm sure aldi hasn't got a clue

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmThis guy is a flake , try to use the machine standing on your head, perhaps the coffee tastes better then.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmOh, I wish he'd found the OBH Nordica's 60 euro espresso machine, he'd love it. (not)
Perry Bennett
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmIt makes perfect coffee. What's stupid is trying to make coffee sitting beside the machine. Secondly he clearly didn't read the instructions. This video is misleading and a total load of rubbish.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmsage bambino same price,, never had a bad cuppa..
Marco Silva
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmHum, have you tried not to press the coffe has much has you did? Maybe the pressure on the machine wouldn't go so high and you might get a decent shot.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmI have never seen one of this guys videos before this, and given his snobby, prissy, smug and arrogant attitude in this one, I think it’s safe to sa6 I shall no be revisiting this channel. What an arse of a man…..

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmyou have to splash some milk or something in your shot otherwise your espresso heart will kill the shot
Jerry Wang
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmNo doubt about how bad those shots would be but for some reason James remind me of Gordon but for coffee and a lot less cursing lol

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmJFC this thing was $500 USD?
JadeFalcon07
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmTry the Aicook $50 espresso machine. The small and really cheap one. I honestly prefer my moka pot over messing with that thing. By the time I've brewed my coffee the steamer practically just dilutes the milk with hot water.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmHow is the phenomenon called that too much pressure makes the cake harder to get through like at 6:10?
Chi-Wai Tang
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmThis is my attempt to do a short review this video as he reviewed the machine… with pretense!
“At this point, this snob just can’t understand how to read an instruction manual. He is just so obnoxious and stupid. He is a waste of internet. He hasn’t learned to just stand in front of a coffee machine to use like any normal human. I just hate this review and it really sucks. His commentary is really stupid, don’t listen to him anymore and unsubscribe.“
Milo and Watson
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmThis is absolutely on a par with Jay Rayner's evisceration of Le Cinq in the Guardian back in 2017
Eric Chen
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmyou should be in the front of the machine to use it properly you tangle yourself or will eventually damage it. no wander you cant get a proper shot.
Thanik Jaganath
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmthis video is the sole reason, why I shall continue watching your videos for the rest of my life.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmThis is the most Tory video I've ever watched.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmOh sweetie. I have a 50€ espresso machine from Lidl, that’s even without a grinder. I buy the vacuum sealed, pre grind espresso and I make coffee that I love and that is much better than the coffee I’ve had in many coffee houses. Of course there’s a learning curve to what grinds work best and how long to let it heat and to what pressure … it has the simplest pressure meter in the front and still I managed to make something that I like and works for me in a price that I can afford. I don’t see why you have to be so condescending… different strokes for different folks. This video is pointless. My cheap ass machine won’t hold a candle to the multiple functions of a proper one, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. And you are just rubbing it in our faces.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmI want see James try different brands of instant coffee lol his face would be hilarious
Sven Holiday
02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmFor anyone complaining that James is being pretentious, do you know how to use a real espresso machine? At my first barista job we had a FIVE MONTH training period before being bar certified. It's not like normal coffee where if you do it wrong it tastes kinda bad. If you get it wrong it can be straight up disgusting.

02 May 2020 - 12:52 pmAldi is great.
